At the double concert we will host two of the most interesting Slovenia ensembles, both of which are characterised by the original combination of diverse styles and a strong poetic message. Brest feat. Vesna Zornik, besides Katalena's singer, already included in the band's name, is comprised of quite known musicians. On the guitar is a recognised jazz guitarist Samo Šalamon, who also writes all the music, and the rhythm section consists of the bass player Samo Pečar (also in bands Bro and Siti hlapci) and drummer Bojan Krhlanko (member of Laibach, Pero Lovšin Bend, The Stroj, etc.). On the last year's released debut Nemi film, the band presented its skilfully executed mix of genres from pop and singer-songwriting to blues and rock. The lyrics were written by one of the most prominent young poets, Kristina Kočan.
The band Orkestrada was established in 2010 at the initiative of the singer and versatile artist Rada Kikelj Drašler, who found the right support for her poetic texts in experienced musicians, known from other ensembles. The year after band's foundation, the debut Spusti (ZARŠ) was published, and two years later the band received the 1st prize at the Slovenian Chanson Festival. The songs of Rada Kikelj Drašler (published in book Košček sanj in 2015) tackles on love, longing and socially critical issues. This year Orkestrada published the second album Utrip with a new dose of poetry, set to a luxuriously arranged music, knowingly borrowing from a variety of genres, from blues and chanson to jazz and psychedelia.
