Brina, one of the leading Slovenian ethno-music bands, got back into gear last year after ten years of inactivity: the band reunited in a slightly changed line-up - accordionist Drago Ivanuša was replaced by trombonist Urban Turjak - and released the album To je to! (DruGod). This is the fourth album of the band, which made its discographical debut in 2004 with the album Mlado leto. Already on the debut, we can hear the characteristics that have become the band's trademark: reaching for well-known and lesser-known folk songs, which are sung in modern vernacular, and mixing the elements of other genres, from alternative rock to singer-songwriters to jazz, chanson and pop. Two years after the debut, the acclaimed album Pasja legenda was released, which was also noticed abroad, placed third on the World Music Charts Europe. The long break that followed the third album Slečena koža (2011) terminated last year with a new album and songs that touch the whole range of feelings, from mischievous and humorous through intimate confessions to politically activistic.
