At the end of the summer series of Keltika's concerts, one of the most praised and attractive brass bands will perform, the Džambo Aguševi Orchestra from Macedonia, which has been at the top of the pantheon of Balkan music for many years with its fiery performances. The band’s founder, Džambo Agušev, was born in 1987 in Strumica into a musical family and joined the orchestra led by his uncle Kočo as an eleven-year-old. Kočo was also his mentor, and at the same time Džambo listened intensively to various genres, from jazz and Turkish music to funk and soul to soundtracks and classical music. He mixed all these sounds through his Roma heritage and thus created a recognizable sound. After founding his own band, a period of incredible success followed, as between 2006 and 2011, the band won first place at the trumpet band competition in Kumanovo every year! In 2011, the orchestra also won the prestigious Serbian festival in Guča, which was followed by the conquest of world stages, from Womex in Spain through almost every European country to Colombia and Mexico. The last album Brasses For The Masses (Asphalt Tango Records, 2020) with vibrant pieces that also borrow from the world of modern pop, received numerous praises, including a prestigious award from German music critics.
