About the performance
We live in a time of many different perspectives on the world. Globalizations, migrations and new technologies have caused very distant social groups to collide into one. Now we are here, in the same location all together with our beliefs, cultures, religions and habits. We do not know each other, but we all still live together. Each one of us is trying to force their way and a real dialog is a rare occasion. The consequence of an absence of a dialog is a gap among us that is growing with fear.
Every human being on his path of life builds a fortress made of beliefs. These are the guidelines of every person and model our life decisions. But these guidelines are very diverse and specific for every individual. Our personal beliefs are very complex and difficult to present in a theatre. What would be the easiest way to grasp all these different standpoints? It would be to put all these people with different points of view together on stage. In this way we will see this wide rainbow of opinions and contrasting beliefs.
In the performance Bridges will do exactly that. We present a dialog in spoken word and movement and image among distant social groups. A dialog within systems of beliefs. A dialog of attitudes. The Bridge is a social experience and a process that starts and ends in theatre, but on its way reaches out to various micro societies and manifests itself in changing social proportions. The performance gives a place on the stage to people with diverse backgrounds and encourages them to use their body and mind and tell their own everyday story.
