At the opening concert of the 28th Keltika concert series, the singer Severa Gjurin, who undoubtedly has one of the most recognizable voices on the Slovenian alternative pop and singer-songwriter scene, will perform for the first time in Cerkno. Her voice is described as mellow and honeyed, which perfectly matches the melancholy and sense of longing that permeates most of her songs. With her dreamy voice, she presented herself for the first time as the singer of the band Olivija on the album Med moškim in žensko (Nika, 2004). The band was founded and led by her brother Gal Gjurin, the author of most of her songs. Since the band’s demise, Severa pursues a successful solo career with seamlessly combining alternative pop with the elements of singer-songwriting and jazz. Her sensitive performance of songs such as Kadar sva sama, Čakam, Sonce and Ali je še kaj prostora tam na jugu will be assisted by an acoustic band consisting of musicians known from many jazz and ethno bands. In addition to the songs from the last album Ali je še kaj prostora? (Had, 2020) we will also hear new songs and those that have not yet been recorded.
